How to Survive ChristmasJun 19, 2013
Running a cake stand business is hard at times, but, you know what is really hard? Christmas. Especially when it's not a holiday your family celebrated growing up. Now that I'm married to my wonderful husband, Aaron, he has brought with him all the joys (and a little stress) of this holiday season. For the last few years, I have waded into the gift-giving frenzy, seemingly endless amounts of food consumption, and some family get-togethers of epic proportions. Phew! It's exhausting. This year, however, will be different. This year, I executed my holiday plan early and we are now booked to go to...Puerto Vallarta! I have never been to Mexico before but I am beyond excited to go. Just look at the gorgeous photos of the resort where we will be staying... This is Secrets Resorts & Spa right in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. It's located on the beach and perfect for some much needed rest and relaxation. This may not have the Christmas vibe but I will be celebrating nonetheless as I sip my margarita and look out at the beautiful ocean. This is the spot to watch some amazing sunsets... But, wait, the best part is our swim-out room. Yes, you heard right. We will be able to swim out from the deck of our room to the main pool area (I just better make sure I get myself into bikini wearing shape). And, you better believe I will be indulging in some spa treatments while I'm there. Do you think one massage a day is too much? So, I will be leaving my wedding cake stands behind (temporarily) and this is how I plan to survive the holiday season this year. It's going to be an amazing trip, I'm sure. Have you made your holiday plans yet? And, if you've been to Puerto Vallarta, let me know if there is anything I should see or do while I'm there.
