What inspired this darling cake?
The Pastry Studio: I created this design to complement the chic metallic gold footed cake stand. I love patterns and wanted a classic yet modern design for this wedding cake. Cream, off-white and gold are timeless. My brides stick close to this color palette more often than not. I think a full-blown sugar-paste floral always makes a bold statement. It was a pleasure creating this one-of-a-kind design. The cake has a fondant background in a soft cream then clean circles and hearts were added to create a seamless pattern in off-white. There are also tiny hearts in between the circle/heart pattern to keep the flow, making this design easy on the eye.

About the Pastry Studio: Sherri Meyers is the owner and art director of the Pastry Studio, a cake boutique located in Daytona Beach, Florida. The studio specializes in couture wedding cakes and luxury special event cakes. Sherri opened the studio in the summer of 1999. She is a graduate of the Institute of the South for Hospitality and Culinary Arts and also holds a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University. In addition, Sherri's background includes studies at Le Cordon Blue in Paris, International Sugar Art Collection in Atlanta, and the French Pastry School - Chicago. The Pastry Studio is known for it's artistic and modern approach.
